Game Announcements:

  • Looney Labs thanked their fans with a print-and-play version of a brand new game: IceToids. Andy Looney created the game as a challenge for himself to create a game that was small enough to fit in an Altoids tin.  Click here for the free print and play version, which can be played with Looney Pyramids components, or with the printable tokens.

  • Skybound Entertainment is launching two new games through its Skybound Games line -- The Walking Dead: Something to Fear and Valor & Villainy: Minions of Mordak. The Walking Dead: Something to Fear is set for a retail release in Q1 of 2019. Valor & Villainy: Minions of Mordak is heading to Kickstarter in Q1 of 2019.

  • TMG announced it will be launching a campaign for Yokohama Duel on Kickstarter in January.

  • 2F-Spiele announced that Power Grid: Recharged Version will be released in 2019 to celebrate the game's 15th anniversary. The Recharged Version will include Power Grid's two-player variant introduced in the Deluxe Edition of the game, as well two different game board layouts.

  • Garphill Games announced that Circadians: First Light, designed by Sam Macdonald, is coming to Kickstarter on January 8.

  • KOSMOS announced Adventure Games, a new series by Phil Walker-Harding and Matthew Dunstan. Walker-Harding said "Each one is a narrative-driven co-operative adventure using a really streamlined core system that we developed with Kosmos. Really interested to find out how they will be received!"

  • Deep Water Games announced the release of Claim for the North American and Australian markets. Claim, with a street date of March 2019, is the first in the line of the Claim universe. Claim has art by Mihajlo Dimitrievski, (Architects of the West Kingdom Raiders of the North Sea) and is designed by Scott Almes (Tiny Epic series).

  • Stephen Buonocore announced on Board Game Gumbo Live! that there was a Terraforming Mars Legacy game under development for possible release in 2020, and announced the next Terraforming Mars expansion, Turmoil, as well as a line of roll-and-write games from Edition Spielwiese, and an unnamed game from Wolfgang Warsch.

  • Cool Mini or Not announced it will be bringing Walls of York, by Cranio Creations and designer Emiliano "Wentu" Venturini, to North America. Walls of York is a 2-4 player game, which combines the feel of a roll and write game with the tactile joy of building blocks.

  • Board&Dice announced Sierra West is launching at Gen Con 2019, Escape Tales: Low Memory is launching at Essen Spiel 2019, and Exodus 2 is coming to Kickstarter in the second quarter of 2019.

  • Red Raven Games announced that Alf Seegert's Haven is now available for purchase.

  • The newest collection of Unlock card games from Asmodee and Space Cowboys has just been released in Europe, Unlock: Exotic Adventures from designer Cyril Demaegd. The stories in Exotic Adventures, which will likely be sold individually in North America at a future date, include Unlock! Night of the Boogeymen, Unlock! Scheherazade's Last Tale, and Unlock! Expedition: Challenger.

Digital Board Game Announcements:

  • Roxley is bringing Santorini to both iOS and Android, with an invitation-only Early Access period already available at this link.

  • Gil Hova's Wordsy is coming to mobile, in a collaboration with Wheeler Games. It will release on Android first, with an iPhone release later in 2019. However, "due to depressing but boring legal reasons, we won't be able to name the mobile app Wordsy, or even typical digital adaptations like iWordsy or Wordsy Digital. We hope to announce the official name of the digital app soon!"
