1. Introduce yourself. Where are you from? What should listeners know about you?
I'm Brandon Kempf, born and raised in the middle of the country in Jefferson City, MO.
2. What games or types of games are you interested in?
I am a bit of an omnigamer, but my tastes lean more to the light to mid-weight Euro styled games. A lot of that has to do with gaming with my family, but I think there are really a ton of fantastic games in that weight class that certainly don't get the love that the big meaty games get sometimes.
3. Do you have a favorite game or games you enjoy most?
Probably since I played it at Geekway to the West three years ago or so, Ginkgopolis has remained my favorite game. Sadly lately it hasn't hit the table nearly as often as it used to, but online plays have really helped remedy that problem. Around here we love tile placement style games, so this one was a natural fit.
4. What are some of the most memorable experiences have you had with tabletop board games in the past?
We've had an epic 8 hour A Game of Thrones, 2nd Ed game which was fun and never should have gone on that long, but we certainly enjoyed our fair share of food, drink and laughs all the way up till 3 in the morning when we finally finished it. I also had the pleasure of being hit in the face with a flying Imp for taking a spot from someone. We play a bit obnoxiously at home, but keep it calm out of the house.
5. What is the focus of your WDYPTW segment?
Our focus on our segment for the podcast is on the games and our family and friends, sometimes in reverse order. My wife and I have used our segment as a way to learn a bit about what we really like in gaming, but also we've used it as our time to sit and talk, which with two active kids, a busy work schedule and a hobby that we have dove into head first, you don't have much free time to sit and quietly talk.
